What is EdnoLand?
Developed in line with the Theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI) by Professor
Howard Gardner, EdnoLand is a comprehensive IT-based dynamic learning
programme specifically developed to help pre-schoolers achieve their maximum
potential by discovering, developing and awakening all their multiple
intelligences.
To the pre-schoolers, EdnoLand offers engaging thematic modules delivered
mainly through computers. Each module has been carefully designed to stimulate
the interest of a wide spectrum of children with varying intelligences.
To
the parents, EdnoLand provides personalised information about their child's
learning in school. Parents can keep themselves updated on their child's
progress, view their child's electronic portfolio, access activity resources
and even receive personal e-mails from their own child.
To
the teachers, the system provides useful, immediate feedback about their
class as well as online resources and suggested follow-up activities that
they can extend and integrate into their teaching beyond the computer
environment.
EdnoLand's MI Vision
Children
are intelligent in different ways and they learn in different ways. EdnoLand
celebrates this intellectual diversity and is dedicated to helping you
maximise your child's potential and nurture the genius in your child.
EdnoLand's teaching repertoire encompasses all 8 multiple intelligences
to ensure that the content is accessible to all children, giving them
equal opportunities to excel. By extending its curriculum beyond the computer
room, EdnoLand aims to synchronise the development of all the intelligences
of the child off the computer, in the kindergarten and at home.
We believe that in order to maximise the multiple intelligences of young
children, we must help teachers and parents appreciate the concept of
multiple intelligences and embrace it. They must understand the implications
of the MI Theory and be ready to apply the principles and practices to
help children achieve their maximum potential.
We
see great challenges ahead as we embark on this extremely meaningful mission
of innovating a MI programme that uses technology to help pre-schoolers
achieve their maximum potential.
By offering a synchonised platform that is in line with the principles
of brain-based learning and the MI Theory, we will work hand-in-hand with
teachers and parents so that we can better understand each pre-schooler's
abilities and be more equipped to develop programmes that will help them
maximise their learning.
Our ultimate objective is to move our pre-schoolers'
learning beyond the lower-order thinking activities into a broad range
of higher-order cognitive tasks that will prepare them for the true challenges
in life.
